Louisville basketball, Pat Kelsey get commitment from London Johnson
Louisville basketball’s Pat Kelsey on the 2025-26 Cardinals identity
Louisville basketball coach Pat Kelsey talks about the defensive end being a big part of the Cardinals’ identity this season.
- London Johnson, a guard who’s spent the past three seasons in the NBA G League, has reportedly committed to Louisville basketball.
- This comes less than a month after the NCAA first granted eligibility to a G League player.
Pat Kelsey has reportedly landed Louisville basketball‘s first Class of 2026 commitment: London Johnson, a 6-foot-3 guard who has spent the past three seasons in the NBA G League.
Yes, you read that correctly. According to a report Monday from the Field of 68’s Jeff Goodman, the 21-year-old Johnson has picked the Cardinals and “will have two years left to play” at the college level.
“Johnson, who played his high school ball at Norcross in Georgia, is expected to arrive in Louisville mid-year and will sit out for the rest of the season,” Goodman wrote in a post to X, formerly Twitter. “(He will) be eligible next year.”
Johnson’s commitment comes less than a month after Thierry Darlan became the first player to obtain NCAA eligibility after playing in the G League. He signed with Santa Clara after two seasons in the professional ranks.
